The £11million David Lloyd Health and Fitness Centre at Sandy Park, Exeter was the first to be built in the South West UK. Architects Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson designed the fitness centre and Pellikaan Construction Ltd were the main contractors.

The David Lloyd facilities include three indoor and five outdoor tennis courts, a 25m indoor swimming pool and a 20m outdoor pool, as well as a 12,900sq ft gym, including fitness studios.
